Local Water Buffaloes take the Polar Plunge to support the South Carolina Special Olympics!

(MYRTLE BEACH)- On a chilly Saturday morning, hundreds of brave souls gathered at Ocean Annie's in Myrtle Beach for the 20th annual Polar Plunge, an event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Special Olympics of South Carolina. Among the participants was the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes, a fraternal organization known for its charitable activities and community involvement.

Representing the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes as team captain was none other than Retro Myrtle Beach Guy, who led a record number of participants from the lodge, showcasing the strong sense of camaraderie and dedication to the cause.

The event, hosted by Duane Farmer star of Retro Myrtle Beach Guy: The Movie and Water Buffalo himself, saw participants of all ages take the plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean, raising over $137,896 in pledges from supporters. The funds raised will go towards providing year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them improve their physical fitness, build confidence, and experience the joy of competition.

The Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes, founded in 1,000,000 BCE, is a fraternal organization that promotes fellowship and charitable work. Their participation in the Polar Plunge is just one example of their commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
